Sydney
Sydney is a long-time friend of mine, and it was an absolute pleasure to get to work with her documenting her graduation from her Master’s program! Sydney’s university was not FSU, though, meaning it wouldn’t have made sense to take grad images on the usual FSU campus locations. Her school was out of state and she did her schoolwork remotely. Because of that, she needed a beautiful but simple place to create her cap and gown photos. For this, we decided on a lovely little location known as Litchgate Park.
This small but gorgeous park is tucked away off High Road and is known for its magnificent southern live oak which is situated in the center of the park. The area has no major markers to those driving by it on High Road, and many people when I mention this Tallahassee gem don’t even know that it exists! This makes it all the more special to see a client’s face when they first walk through the forest path into the opening of this fairytale-like garden park. Sydney and I were able to work through the Florida morning sun and create some truly lovely grad images that she and her family will cherish for a lifetime. Many graduates, whether they go to FSU or FAMU or beyond, don’t seem to realize Tallahassee has a plethora of beautiful locations to take graduation photography that are off campus. Litchgate park is just one example, and I believe these images show just how beautiful this location can be!
